Memorial to Oyster (??? - 150506)
Hai... Damn sad now... Juz finished taking out the oyster from its shell cos I wanted 2 kp the shell as a momento from Tekong... Walau... the whole procedure was like taking out the instentines of sum1 into 2 preserve him la... Now I noe hw those pple working at Singapore Caskets feel when they embalm the body... And for the record, the feeling totally sux...
Initially I tot it was ok 2 leave it in the open cos I tot it would like dry up by itself or sumting (ya i noe i sound naive bt... ya..)... Anw I left it dere for a few days in my bedroom until my bro started 2 tell mi dat dere was tiz weird smell coming from my side of the room... So I dutifully went in n since I couldn't smell anyting, I tot mayb it was my bro hu smelt it wrongly...
Den last nite juz b4 I went 2 bed... Dere was indeed a weird smell coming out... So after reaching 4 the lites n looking ard, including the cupboard (Ya I was worried dat I mite haf thrown some dirty, stinky clothes inside to prevent my mother from nagging mi... Haha..)... Bt sumhw the origin of the smell eluded mi... Until I was adjusting my alarm clock n I saw my oyster which was hiding behind it... I had completely forgotten abt it until den so I decided to check it n c whether dere was sumting wrong wif it... N whenI started to lift the shell up...
WA PIANG EHZ!!! The oyster was sumhw leakin sum foul smelling water n the mouth was sightly opened... Sianz!! I haf no clue wat is happening to the oyster sia!! Tinking dat it mite b bcos of the lack of seawater (Until den den did I realise wat a damn big dumbass I m...) I filled a pail wif modified saltwater (Tap water wif salt in it... Hahaha!) n placed the oyster gingerly into it...
Sumhw the bubbles that appeared out of the oyster amused mi... n calmed mi down as I tot that the oyster was sumhw breathing again... (YA I TOLD U I WAS NAIVE!!)... Anw after that fright I made it a point to check it out everyday N oso 2 go to the nearest fish shop 2 purchase sum saltwater or sum chemical to make the water like the sea... So imagine my surprise when I was changing the water 2dae n the mouth of the shell like split opened n exposed the flesh!!!
Sumhw I tot dat the situation could b salvaged (ya i noe i noe my naivety is laughable..) until my dad informed mi dat when the mouth opens n the flesh starts 2 stink... It means that the oyster has gone to the Great Big Ocean on the Other Side... Sobz...
The felling of taking the flesh out... It really sux man... N den the lifeless flesh juz *BLOOP* into the plastic bag b4 I threw it away in the rubbish chute... Hai... Pity that I took fotos bt couldn't put it up cos my fone pics cant b transfered to the comp... HAI...
O manz... Felt damn sad abt the oyster.... it could haf grew bigger n better if i didnt pick it up dat day... Sobz... I'm sorry oyster... I shall kp the shell as a reminder of u n of the times I had in Tekong... Really sorry... Sobz...
